Inbetween Club

After school childcare for 4 to 11 year olds

The Petersfield Inbetween Club staff promotes and encourages ‘free play’ during each session, although children can do their homework if they wish.  A selection of floor toys and arts and craft activities are put out for the children to do each day.  Children are supervised at all times and make full use of the adjacent field and paved areas in fine weather.

The club provides many types of floor toys, clay, paints, crafts, books & jigsaws.  For outside play, scooters and bikes are also provided.  Access to a playstation is available at certain times.

Children are offered a healthy snack consisting of sandwiches/wraps, fruit and a drink. The children sit up to the table together to eat their snack. If parents prefer they can send extra food in their child’s school sandwich box, to be eaten at the club (please no products containing nuts).  All staff on duty are Epi-pen trained.

The Petersfield Inbetween Club was established in 1996 with grant money from the Petersfield and Liss Under Eights Forum (PLUEF) and the Hampshire Training and Enterprise Council.

The club is managed by a committee of volunteer parents. New committee members and volunteers are always welcome. The club is self funded and a not for profit organisation.  It is registered with Ofsted (no: 110201) and can take up to 50 children per session.

The club is run by a team of qualified Playwork and Childcare staff supported by volunteers.  All staff and volunteers are CRB checked and all staff wear a uniform.  At least two members of staff hold a level 3 Playwork qualification and several qualified First Aiders are on duty each day.

The Petersfield Inbetween Club offers a quality play and childcare service, Monday – Friday term time only, for children aged 4-11 years. Opening times 3pm – 6pm. It costs £10 per session.

A walking bus service is in operation to collect children from Petersfield Infant School at 3.10pm and Herne Junior School at 3.30pm.  The staff walk the children back to the club at the Avenue Pavilion.  Fluorescent tabards/jackets are worn by children and staff on all walks.  Parents of children from other local schools have to make their own arrangements to get their child to the club.

If a child is unable to attend the club on any day it is essential to let child’s class teacher and club supervisor know.
